Verandahs is a memoir that crosses into fiction, based on the story of my English grandfather in India. The verandah is the bridge between his life and mine, between India and Queensland where he came to live and I grew up. Here is an extract published in Griffith Review 2012. Verandahs was my project for my Doctor of Creative Arts degree and won the UTS Chancellors Award in 2010.
